🔧 What Could Cause It?

1. Unequal Tyre Pressure

This is the first simple thing to check.

If one front tyre has noticeably lower pressure than the other, the car may not track properly.

Check pressures when the tyres are cold and compare them with the manufacturer’s recommended pressures.

2. Wheel Alignment

Incorrect alignment can cause:

Pulling to one side
Uneven tyre wear
Steering wheel not sitting straight
Car feeling unstable

But don’t jump straight to an alignment job.

Check the simple things first.

3. Uneven Tyre Wear

Look closely at your front tyres.

Is one side of the tread wearing much faster?

Uneven wear can be a clue that something isn’t right with alignment, suspension or tyre condition.

4. A Brake May Be Dragging

This one is often overlooked.

If one brake is partially sticking, that wheel can experience extra resistance.

The car may pull toward one side, and that wheel may become unusually hot.

⚠️ Don’t touch a recently driven brake component with your hand to check its temperature.

If you suspect a dragging brake, have it inspected.

5. Suspension Problems

Worn or damaged components such as:

Bushes
Ball joints
Tie-rod components
Control arms
Struts/shock absorbers

can affect how the car tracks.

If the pulling started after hitting a pothole or kerb, pay particular attention to the suspension and wheel area.

6. The Road May Be Fooling You

Roads aren’t always perfectly flat.

Road surfaces are often shaped to help water drain away, and this can create a tendency for a car to drift slightly.

So if your car pulls one way on one road but behaves normally on another, don’t immediately assume the car is faulty.
